What Mail Tracker sees of your emails
An extension asking for access to your Gmail account owes you precise answers. Here they are, no hedging.
Why does Mail Tracker need access to my emails?
To tell you which email was just opened, we first have to know which one it is. When your tracking pixel fires, we query Gmail to find the matching message in your sent items and pull what is needed to write the notification: its subject, its recipients and the time it was sent.
We do not store your emails. Not the body of your messages, not your attachments, not your inbox. We only look at the emails you chose to track, identified by a tracker you generated yourself.
What we read
- The subject of the tracked email, to tell you which one was opened
- Its recipients, to tell you who opened it
- Its send time, to compute the delay before opening

- Any email you did not choose to track
- Nothing can be edited, deleted or sent on your behalf
Technically, we request the Google gmail.readonly permission. It is read-only access: even if we wanted to, the extension has no way to edit, delete or send an email on your behalf.
Who checks that we keep our word?
Not us. Because Mail Tracker accesses Gmail data classified as sensitive, Google requires an independent security assessment, renewed every year.
We pass the CASA Tier 2 assessment (Cloud Application Security Assessment), carried out by TAC Security, one of the assessors mandated by Google. Without that validation, an extension simply loses its access to the Gmail API. So this is not a compliance badge we hand ourselves.
What if I change my mind?
The access you granted us, you can take back whenever you want, without asking us and without giving a reason.
Revoke Gmail access
From your Google account permissions, remove Mail Tracker's access. The cut is immediate: our servers lose any way to read your mailbox, including emails already tracked. To also erase the data already stored, use the deletion request.

Write to us and we permanently delete your account and your tracking history. A 72-hour grace period applies before erasure, during which you can change your mind. You can also request a full export of your data.
